The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to laying a solid foundation for the future of children in the state.
Governor Eno gave the assurance while receiving pupils of King’s Kids Christian Montessori School, Uyo, who visited the Government House on a guided tour.

Governor Eno noted that it is the foremost responsibility of government to provide a secure and peaceful environment for citizens, as well as a safe and supportive academic atmosphere that enables children to focus on their studies and excel.
“We are here to receive you, most importantly because I pay particular attention to children. The truth is that you are the future of the world. What you see and what you do today has a way of leaving a lasting impression on you.
“Our job is to make sure that you have a secure environment and a peaceful State where you can read your books and concentrate on your studies,” he said.
The Governor urged the pupils to be inspired by the visit and remain committed to their studies so they can grow into responsible leaders in the future.

“I hope this visit will motivate and inspire you to study hard. We are giving our today because of your tomorrow, so that we can build a lasting legacy for you to grow.
“We are working here to ensure that we maintain peace and order and also see to the welfare of all Akwa Ibomites. That is why your parents voted for us and sent us here to serve everyone,” he added.
Governor Eno also commended the teachers for their dedication and commitment to guiding the pupils, describing them as worthy role models.
During the visit, the pupils were given a guided tour of the Governor’s office to give them a firsthand view of the workings of the Government House.

Governor Eno later presented them with educational materials and decorated each with the ARISE badge, symbolically making the pupils ambassadors of the initiative.
Speaking on behalf of the pupils, the Senior Prefect, Miss Ruth Thank-God, expressed appreciation to the Governor for the warm reception and for granting them audience despite his demanding schedule.
Also speaking, the Deputy Head Teacher (Academics), Mrs Grace Ben, thanked the Governor for creating time to receive the pupils and for demonstrating genuine care and concern for children.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of an Award of Leadership Excellence to Governor Eno by the pupils of the school.
