Al-Basheer Mohammed Yarima has won the All Progressives Congress APC House of Reps ticket for Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency in Nasarawa state.
Yarima defeated the incumbent Rep member Abdulmuminu Ari, dashing his hopes of returning to the national assembly for a second term.
The returning officer Abdullahi Mohammed, while announcing the result of the primary election in Lafia, said Mohammed Al-Basheer scored 112 votes to defeat the incumbent House of representatives member Abdulmuminu Ari, who scored zero vote.
“Total number of voters were 135, accredited number 113, while the total vote cast was 113 no invalid”,
“Muhammed Yarima Albasheer is hereby declared winner of the election”, He said.
Speaking to journalists shortly after he was declared winner, Al-Basheer commended the peaceful process in which the election was conducted.
He thanked God Almighty for the victory, the delegates and the people of Nasarawa and Toto LGAs for the support, confidence, mandate and promised to represent members of his constituency and make policies that would impact his constituents positively if elected in the forthcoming general election in the state.
