A non-governmental organisation, Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society has recognised individuals who have contributed to the growth of the society.
It also gave posthumous awards to outstanding personalities as it celebrated the 21st Anniversary of its establishment in Abuja the nation’s capital.
The celebration aims to reflect the achievements recorded so far as an Islamic organisation.
Delivering a lecture, the Chief Imam of Al-habibiyyah, Fuad Adeyemi charged Muslims to always exhibit good character wherever they find themselves by the Islamic teaching and contribute to the well-being of the Nigerians.
He said; “The journey with Al-habibiyyah is challenging, because the society aims at achieving three major issues that affect the Muslim community in Nigeria such as Ignorant, Poverty and lack of good relationships among people.
“Al-habibiyyah has made a tremendous success since its inception by transforming the lives of vulnerable Nigerians.”
The centre has graduated many students in Qur’anic recitations amongst other social community programmes the society is carrying out with the help of Muslims Ummah.
A lecture with the theme “Religious Organisation as A Tool for Social Development.” was delivered by the lmam of Masjid Al-Furqom West Cobb Islamic Centre Atlanta USA, Bashir Mundi
He said; “Seeking knowledge in Islam is compulsory because no society, or community developed without education, in this regard, I commend the good work of Al-habibiyyah Islamic Society in propagating Islam in Nigeria and beyond, eradicating illiteracy, offering solutions to problems that affect society, and alleviating poverty.”
A former Governor of Kogi State North Central Nigeria, Idris Wada who was a former student of the Islamic Society prayed for the continued success of the society.
He urged the Muslim Ummah to embrace peace and love of one another.
Awards were also given to some personalities who contributed towards the development of Al-habibiyyah society, among whom was Mrs. Rafat Salami from Voice of Nigeria.
Mrs. Salami expressed her gratitude for being one of the awardees and pledged her commitment and support in ensuring that Al-habibiyyah continues its humanitarian service to less privileged Nigerians.
The 21st-anniversary ceremony had in attendance many dignitaries who founded the Islamic Society and contributed Immensely and ensured that the society had grown.
