Aliko Dangote pledges to support Kano State

The President of Dangote Group of Companies, Aliko Dangote has pledged to support the Kano state government in North West Nigeria in providing amenities aimed at uplifting the living standard of the people of the state.
The Kano born billionaire made the pledge in Kano during a courtesy call on  Governor Abba Yusuf.
He said, the home visit was not only to congratulate the Governor over his victory at Supreme Court but also to see how to collaborate in areas of need in addressing challenges of the people of the state.
Specifically, Dangote stressed the need to look into Health, Education and youth empowerment
“I think going forward we need to look at areas of Health, Education, and empowerment to see how do we assist the government because the government cannot do it a lone.”
 
“Your Excellency first of all we are here to congratulate you on your victory at the supreme Court and I want to assure you of our own support through out your administration insha Allah from 4 to even 8 years.
 
“Kano is home even though you address me as the Africa’s Richest man but you would have address me as Kano Indigene.
 
“Your Excellency I am your subject and you can always call on me for cooperation to see how we can develop Kano.” Dangote said.
He promised continued support for the government and people of Kano.
“We will continue to support you not because I am from Kano but because your intentions are good.”
Governor Yusuf appealed to Africa’s Richest man to assist the people of Kano in the areas of community development projects such as roads, electricity and housing aimed at uplifting the living standard of the people.
He also pleaded with Dangote to complete some of the projects he started in the state including the Dangote Foundation for the benefit of people of the state
Specifically, the Governor appealed for the completion of accident and emergency complex, Surgical and Diagnosis theater complex as well as Maternity and paediatric complex both at the Murtala Mohammed Hospital Kano to improve heath care in the state.
He also solicited for the establishment of Sickle cell Hospital.
“We will be happy if the Dangote group of companies could establish electricity generating plant so that our ailing Industries could be uplifted.”
Governor Yusuf called on Dangote to execute projects in Kano similar to those he donated to other states to complement development.
We are aware of the modern road constructions that has been taken place across the country. We therefore want to appeal to our brother to consider providing such modern roads in Kano.
Let me seize this opportunity to appeal to the President Dangote Group of Companies in the areas of diversified assistance to the good people of Kano state being an Indigene of Kano.”
Governor Yusuf said, “being the richest person in Africa, we feel it is duty bound upon us to give you maximum cooperation so by the grace of Allah you continue to give your contribution to the people of the state.”
He informed Dangote that his administration is not after accumulating money to the Detriment of the state but “ours is to look for people like you that has interest of the people, people that are ready to be contacted and then to give them our maximum cooperation towards the development of the state.”
The Governor who thanked Dangote for assisting the state expressed the readiness of his administration to join hands with him in uplifting the living standard of people of Kano state.
He said, “The people of Kano, Nigeria and indeed Africa are proud of you. We appreciate your numerous assistance to the people of Kano especially the vulnerable people. You have done a lot for the the state, in the areas of Education, Health and more especially human capital development.”
The Governor recalled the tremendous contributions of Aliko Dangote through the Bill and Melinda gates foundation that led to the eradication of Polio in Kano state.
