The benchmark all share index of equities on the Nigerian Exchange dropped further by 0.09% to close at 39,184.18 points on Wednesday making it the third consecutive day of loss this week.
Similarly, the market capitalisation depreciated by N19 billion to close the day’s trading at N20,415 trillion.
The market sentiment also remained negative at the close of trade on Wednesday as the market recorded nine gainers and 18 losers.
A total of 169.29 million shares with market value of N1.42 billion were traded in 3,499 deals.
Aiico Insurance led the gainers with N0.04k share price appreciation to close at N1.03k, it was followed by Custodian and Allied with price appreciation of N0.20k to close at N6.55k then Fidson healthcare gained N0.17k to close at N6.25k.
Conversely, FTN Cocoa Processors was top on the losers table after it lost N0.05k to close at N0.52k, followed by Morison Industries which lost N0.11k to close at N1.92k and UPDC which lost N0.09k to close at N1.77k.
Transnational Corporation of Nigeria had the highest volume of 28.5 million traded shares followed by Zenith Bank with16.6 million shares.
