All share index falls by 0.31%

The gains recorded on the equities market on Wednesday could not be sustained on Thursday as the market index dropped by 0.31 percent.

The all share index depreciated by 0.31 percent to close at 40,095.49 basis points while the market capitalisation fell by N65 billion to close at N20.978 trillion.

The market sentiment was also negative as the market closed with 24 losers and 14 gainers.

Investors traded 326.04 million shares worth N3.71 billion in 4,567 deals on Thursday.

Chams was top on the gainers list as it appreciated by 2k to close at 24k, then Royal express also appreciated by 2k to close at 27k while Wema bank followed with 5k gain to close at 70k.

On the flip side, Lasaco depreciated by 12k to close at N1.12k, followed by Fidson which lost 45k to close at N4.90k ànd Ecobank Transnational Incorporated which lost 35k to close at N5.20k.

Transcorp dominated activity chart after it traded 48.438 million shares valued at N43.727 million.
