Transactions on the Nigerian equities market on Wednesday closed with the all-share index rising by 0.42% to close at 51,953.41 points as against 51,952.99 recorded on Tuesday.
The market capitalisation however closed flat at N28.3 trillion , same as that of Tuesday’s trading.
The market sentiment for the day was also positive as trading closed with 16 gainers relative to 11 losers.
Skyway Aviation Handling Company led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation to close at N5.50k per share, followed by Associated Bus Company with 9.68% gain and a closing price of N0.34k then Berger Paints gained 8.57% to close at N7.60k per share.
On the other hand, Royal Exchange lost 10% to close at 0.54k and it was followed by Champion Breweries with 9.84% loss and a closing price of N4.58k while Computer Warehouse Group lost 7.53% to close at 0.86k per share.
Transcorp Nigeria recorded the highest volume of 118 million traded shares, followed by Fidelity Bank with 38 million shares.
At the end of the day’s trading, a total of
total of 255.1 shares worth N1.79 billion were traded in 3,890 deals.
