Nigeria’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami says the prosecution of about 400 alleged Boko Haram financiers will be carried out in the special terrorism prosecution courts set up by the government in no distant time.
The Minister disclosed this while felicitating with Muslim faithfuls all over the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-fitr celebration.
According to a statement by the Special Assistant to the Minister on Media and Public Relations Dr. Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, “the Federal Government will, through the Federal Ministry of Justice’s Complex Case Group resuscitate and reinvigorate the existing special terrorism prosecution courts in the country in order to bring to book all those found guilty so as to serve as deterrent to others”.
On this year’s Eid al-fitr celebration, the Chief Law Officer in Nigeria urged Muslims to continue to be law-abiding, have sober reflection and exhibit the lessons learnt during the period of Ramadan as they celebrate the Eid-fitr.
According Malami, Ramadan fast comes with numerous lessons including sincerity, honesty, commitment, sacrifice, selflessness, introspection and empathy among others.
Mr. Malami added that the Nigerian Government is committed to ending insecurity in the country.
