Eid-el-Kabir: AMAC Chairman Enjoins Muslims to Embrace Peace

The Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Maikalangu has felicitated with Muslims in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.

The Chairman in his Salah message to FCT residents advised Muslims and all Nigerians to use the Salah period, which he described as a golden opportunity to embrace one another in promoting long-lasting peace in Nigeria.

According to Maikalangu, Muslims must not fail to sustain such discipline displayed during the last Ramadan fast, to exhibit those qualities that would make Nigeria, the best nation the globe can always be proud of.

The Chairman emphasized that the occasion should also be used to foster unity by making exemplified sacrifice amongst all in the spirit of the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim culminating into the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.

The Chairman stressed the importance of selfless life of love and sacrifice by the people based on the principles behind the Eid-el-Kabir and therefore called on all residents of AMAC to be law-abiding as his Administration strives to implement necessary policies to improve the economy of the council.

While thanking Allah for being alive to witness this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Maikalangu enjoined all Nigerians irrespective of their religious and political inclinations to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another; advising that “we should be our brothers’ keeper.”

The Chairman re-echoed the administration’s strong determination to strengthen enduring institutions for the emergence of a dynamic, orderly and all-inclusive council; adding, “We must see AMAC as our collective heritage”.

Total support

Maikalangu appealed for total support for President Buhari’s administration in its fight against security challenges and plans to grow the economy; adding that better days are ahead.

In the spirit of the season, the Chairman further called for total support for FCT Administration, and prayers for the success of the country’s leadership under President Muhammadu Buhari, for Allah’s guidance, protection and wisdom to steer the affairs of the nation.
