AMAC Chairman tasks community radio staff on professionalism,discipline

The Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu Candido, advised pioneer staff of AMAC Grassroot Community FM Radio to uphold high degree of professionalism, moral uprightness, discipline and sacrifice in the course of discharging their duties.

The Chairman stated this whle presenting certificates to fourteen trainees drawn from the Information Division of the Council on “Professional Broadcasting Skills“, preparatory to the kick-of of the first grassroots radio station in Nigeria idea-ted by his Administration in 2016.

The ceremony, which is a precursor to the formal kick-off of the radio station, was also facilitated to build capacities and develop talents even as the radio project aims at serving its diverse publics in plain and simple languages.

As pioneer staff of the FM radio station, Alhaji Candido noted that they must also be seen to live above board, guard against the euphoria of fame that surrounds broadcasting and urged them to be honest, upright and dedicated to their responsibilities.

Harping on the need for a result and humane-based leadership by the management team, the Chairman highlighted that “every institution with no political and leadership solutions will fail.” 

 

He applauded the General Manager, Alhaji Abubakar Dantsoho, the Divisional Head, Information, Mrs Olaloye Patience and lead  the Consultant to the radio project, Prof. Samson Alhaji Shaibu for their sacrifices, determination and leadership that made the dream an enchanting reality.

 

Candido reminded the staff of the enormous affronts that abound on the path of progress, urging them to be steadfast as every challenges are surmountable.

 

He noted that, “any beginning comes with one or two challenges; the initial challenge the council pondered on was in the area of recruiting new hands; we therefore thought to make use with the (in-house) graduates and professionals that we have to maximize cost and explore the vast talents in the information division.”

 

He urged the staff to “speak the language of the people, be down-to-earth” as they prepare broadcast bulletins as soon as the station kicks-off.

 

It would be recalled that AMAC Community Grassroots Radio is one of the strings of innovations Alhaji Candido’s administration has bequeathed for posterity which is expected to serve the people, generate income and employment.
