The Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, in the Nigerian nation’s Capital City, Abuja, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu has approved the names of political appointees that would help in the smooth running of affairs of the Council.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Mr Ephraim Audu, noted that this was a sequel to the quest to put in place a functional cabinet that would translate the manifestos of the People’s Democratic Party to reality.
Mr Audu further explained that, based on the operational guidelines for local Councils and after due consultations with the party stakeholders, the Chairman approved the appointment of seven (7) Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers to assist in piloting the affairs of the Council to provide responsive and responsible leadership to the people of Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC.
He, therefore, revealed that those appointed were key personages that will be responsible for manning strategic departments, offices and other auxiliary services that are expected to add value to running the Council.
” As an administration that is conscious of Legislature aimed at providing results, the administrative leadership of the Legislature is to also ease their Hon Councillors’ official operations just as it is expected to provide a platform that would enhance a mutually beneficial relationship between the Executive and the legislature”, it added.
It also stated that the chairman also approved the appointment of the Clerk to the Area Legislative Council, the Deputy Clerk as well as the Legislative Liaison Officer for the Council.

- ii) Obiora Arinze – Supervisory Councillor
iii) Hon. Emmanuel Inyanya -Supervisory Councillor
- iv) Saleh Zakari Biu – Supervisory Councillor
- v) Musa Aliyu Aliyu – Supervisory Councillor
- vi) Dantani Zadna – Supervisory Councillor
vii) Hon. Faoye Tunji Toye – Supervisory Councillor.
