Missing Features from Initial Demo
According to The Washington Post, Alexa+ is currently unable to perform several AI-driven tasks showcased during its announcement, including:
- Ordering takeout on Grubhub
- Generating stories to entertain children
- Visually identifying people and assigning chores
- Brainstorming gift ideas
Limited Rollout of Select Features
Some features are available only to a limited number of users at launch, such as:
- Ordering an Uber
- Receiving cooking recommendations
Additionally, a web app for Alexa+ that Amazon announced last month has no confirmed release date.
Technical Challenges Behind Delays
Reports suggest that Alexa+ has struggled with AI infrastructure challenges from the start, contributing to delays and missing features.
Based findings, it appears that Amazon is still working to resolve these issues.
