AMGA 2024: Nigeria wins 11 medals in Taekwondo

Team Nigeria Armed Forces have claimed 11 medals in the Taekwondo event at the ongoing Africa Military Games in Abuja, nine of which are GOLD medals, with five coming from the Poomsae events.

Some of the GOLD medalists include Mohammed Yusuf (men’s 54kg), Rejoice Bisalla (women’s -46kg), Chinenye Ibeh (women’s -49kg) and Glory Anam (women’s -53kg). Daniel Alexander settled for Silver in the men’s -58kg class while Alassa Aminu secured a Bronze medal in the men’s -63kg category.

The Technical Director of Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, John Victor said the Taekwondo events would conclude on Sunday, with the potential for Nigeria to claim more gold medals.

He remarked, “The Taekwondo event is still open until Sunday, and Nigeria can still increase its medal tally by winning more gold medals.”
