Nigeria’s men’s volleyball team secured a dominant 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-19) victory against Burkina Faso in their second match at the Africa Military Games (AMGA).
The victory against Burkina Faso is Nigeria’s second win at the tournament so far and Captain Seyeifa Dikiyai, who was voted the most valuable player of the game, said they are doing their best to get to the top.
Head coach Solomon Zango also expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance.
“The team showed great determination and teamwork executing our strategies well especially in the first set,” Zango said. “The boys played with confidence and we were able to maintain control throughout the match. We’ve been working hard on our attack”
“And it’s clear that the hard work is paying off. SLT Seiyefa Dikiyai’’s performance was outstanding and the team supported him well. We need to keep this momentum going for the upcoming matches. It’s crucial that we stay focused and maintain this level of performance.
In other matches, Ghana defeated Sierra Leone 3-0 (25-21, 25-9, 25-10), with Gyamerah Augustine being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Meanwhile, Algeria triumphed over Kenya 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-15, 26-24), with Dour Djabir of Algeria earning the MVP accolade for his exceptional performance.
