Aminu Dantata Buried In Madina’s Baqiyya Cemetery

The Renowned Nigerian business mogul and philanthropist, Aminu Alhassan Dantata,has been laid to rest at the esteemed Baqiyya Cemetery in Madina, located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

His burial drew heartfelt tributes, special prayers, and the presence of dignitaries from across Nigeria.

The spokesperson to the Kano State Governor Sanusi Bature announced this in a press statement.

The Federal Government delegation was led by the Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, alongside the Ministers of Justice and Information.

Leading the high-powered Nigerian delegation was Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, accompanied by Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, and the Deputy Governor of Katsina State.

Other notable figures present at the funeral rites included former Governors Ahmad Adamu Muazu (Bauchi), Ali Sa’ad Birnin Kudu and Saminu Turaki (Jigawa), former APC Acting National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and the former Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.

Also in attendance were Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, the Minister of State for Housing, and members of the Nigerian community in Saudi Arabia.

In a rare gesture by the Saudi authorities, Governors Yusuf and Namadi, along with Emir Sanusi, were granted the privilege to view the late Alhaji Dantata’s body before the funeral prayer. 

The leaders offered a private farewell and special prayers, a moment that deeply moved the delegation.

Governor Yusuf offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased and extended heartfelt condolences to the family. 

He urged them to take comfort in the rich legacy of service, generosity, and enterprise that Dantata left behind.

Governor Umar Namadi, in his condolence message delivered at the holy mosque, prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the departed soul and conveyed the sympathies of the government and people of Jigawa State.

Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II led special prayers, describing the late Dantata as a symbol of piety, philanthropy, and foresight whose contributions extended beyond business into the very heart of community development.

As the funeral concluded and the body of Aminu Dantata was laid to rest in Baqiyya Cemetery, a sacred burial ground reserved for the revered the atmosphere was filled with solemn prayers and profound respect. 

Thousands joined in mourning a man whose life helped shape modern commerce and charitable outreach in Nigeria.
