About 6,000 members of the Young Progressives Party (YPP)and Allied Peoples Movement(APM) have defected to All Progressives Congress(APC) in Anambra State.
Leader of the YPP decampees, Mr Obiora Ochudo said they decided to join the party to be counted among agents of positive change in the state.
He said they believed in the party’s manifesto and programmes and have same ideology and vision with the gubernatorial candidate of the state, Senator Andy Uba.
Liberate the People
Former State Chairman of Allied Peoples Party, Chief Issac Onuka, said the APC has come to liberate the people from bad governance and pledged their loyalty to party.
Receiving the decampees into the party during a political rally held in Awka,Capital of the State, the State Chairman of APC, Chief Basil Ejidike, appreciated them for taking the wise decision to be part the transformation of the state.
He told them to be steadfast in their decision and work for the success of the party during the November 6 election.
The Candidate of the party for the gubernatorial election,Senator Andy Ubah gave assurance of protecting their interest and run grassroots based government if voted into office.
He reiterated his pledge of building a new state that would be economically viable to take care of the peoples’ need.
