A political support group under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Ikemba Front, has adopted Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu as their preferred candidate for the 5th April, 2025 primary election of the party.
The unanimous decision was made during a forum by members of the group at the aspirant’s campaign office in Awka, the capital of Anambra state.
Speaking on the occasion, the National Coordinator of the group, Arinze Awogu, explained that they considered political interest of its prime mover, Late Sen Ifeanyi Uba in arriving at the decision.
He further added that they observed with keen interest events in the party, the strength of other candidates and zoning arrangement in the state and concluded to give their support to Prince Ukachukwu.
According to him, Ikemba Front as a political movement is rooting for the aspirant to not only win the primary election, but to emerge victorious in November 25th gubernatorial poll.
While underscoring the need to respect zoning arrangement in the state, he insisted that Anambra South should be allowed to complete its turn to guarantee equity and fairness.
The National Coordinator, affirmed that Prince Ukachukwu would recreate and reinvent the state if given the mandate, urging members of the party to rally round him to ensure that the dream is actualized.
The Chairman of the group’s Committee of Elders, Elder Johnny Oraefo, who lent his voice in adopting the aspirant, said they joined the clarion call to support him as the best among others to secure the party’s ticket and win the election.
The event also featured the recognition and award presentation to some of the groups promoters including Bishop Mike Nwankpa, Dr Ejike Ezendu, Chief Linus Ezenkwu, Dr Tony Aniukwu among others.
