Anambra and Benue Governors Mourn Death Of Governor Akeredolu

The Anambra State Governor and the Benue State Governor have expressed sadness and shock on the passing away of Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the early hours of Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
Governor Charles Soludo in a statement released and signed by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime said that the news of Governor Akeredolu’s death at the age of 67 is a personal and collective loss, not just to the people of Ondo State, but to Nigeria as a whole.
Fearless advocate
a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), he was a distinguished legal luminary, a fearless advocate, a passionate patriot, and a dedicated public servant who made a positive impact on the polity.
As a governor, he left behind a legacy of remarkable achievements in Ondo State, demonstrably improving security, infrastructural development, and economic growth.
Commenting on Akeredolu’s death, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State in his condolence message said his commitment to good governance and his dogged fight for the rights of his people earned him immense respect and admiration across the country.
Governor Alia who described Akeredolu as a gentleman who gave his all in trying to change the fortunes of his State, urged the people of Ondo State to take solace in the fact that the late Akeredolu lived an exemplary and purposeful life with remarkable achievements as a public servant, administrator, lawyer and a dedicated family man.
The Governor also described the death of Akerdolu as a great loss to Nigeria, pointing out that the lives he touched and his various contributions towards the development of humanity would be greatly missed, not only by the people of Ondo and Kano States, but by the entire nation.
