The governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the upcoming 2025 election in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has outlined a comprehensive vision aimed at addressing the critical issues facing the state.

During a media interaction at his home in Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area, Chukwuma emphasized his commitment to eradicating insecurity through community intelligence gathering and job creation.

Chukwuma expressed deep concern over the escalating violence and insecurity in Anambra, particularly incidences of kidnapping and murder, asserting that these challenges are deterring both local and foreign investment amidst burdensome taxation and a high cost of living. “Anambra is in a mess, and we must all join hands to salvage the state,” he remarked, emphasizing the importance of moving away from ineffective foreign theories and adopting local strategies to reform governance.

He added that his administration, if elected, would prioritize collaboration with community leaders and traditional rulers to enhance intelligence gathering and establish effective crime prevention measures. “I will leverage existing laws to empower local vigilante groups, the police, and other law enforcement agencies to restore peace and order,” he stated, noting that the current vigilante law has not been effectively implemented.

Chukwuma articulated his holistic approach to governance, promising to combat unemployment and youth restiveness through job creation, equitable resource distribution, and shunning nepotism.

We must ensure food security, implement a fair minimum wage, and create policies that facilitate ease of doing business,” he said.

Furthermore, Chukwuma dismissed the prevailing narrative regarding power rotation among senatorial zones in Anambra, labeling it as a construct of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to maintain its hold on power since 2006. He asserted that APC does not adhere to such arrangements and is poised to reclaim leadership in the upcoming election.

Reflecting on the current administration led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Chukwuma critiqued the ineffective application of governance strategies derived from external agencies, stating, “We want to bring in a government that applies local indices to solve our problems.

He called for a collective effort to address the state’s governance deficits and affirmed his readiness to lead with a clear blueprint for positive change.

Chukwuma who also sought partnership with the media for effective governance, also stated the urgent need for sustainable solutions to the challenges confronting Anambra, emphasizing that enhancing security will be his administration’s primary objective.

Tackling security is not rocket science; it’s something that can be done. I am prepared to solve the problems of Anambra, and I possess the capacity to do so,” he asserted confidently.
