Anambra Commissioner Commends Governor for Health Sector Transformation, Infrastructure Development

Anambra State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Pauly Onyeka, has commended the State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, for his exceptional leadership in the state’s health sector and infrastructure development.

On an inspection tour with ministry staff, Commissioner Onyeka expressed satisfaction with projects including the Specialist Hospital in Fegge, Onitsha South LGA, and the upgraded classrooms at Urban Secondary School in Nkpor, ldemili North LGA.

“Governor Soludo’s strategic approach to governance is evident in these projects,” said Commissioner Onyeka. “The quality and timeliness of the work done by contractors is commendable, and the impact on the lives of Anambra residents is substantial.”

He said that having gone round and access the wonderful and elegant infrastructure constructed by Anambra State Government led by , Prof Charles chukwuma Soludo, the team was satisfied.

 

 

“So this is not the first time. We have been here severally. We have supervised the job from the onset, in terms of the foundation, the structural work, electrical, and mechanical. The Ministry of Housing did due diligence in her supervision,” he added .

According to him: “Anambrarians should be happy for having a Governor like Prof Chukwuma Soludo. Before now, the state has not had it this good from its creation in 1991.

“There are some states that are doing elephant projects and never complete them. Even when they manage to finish the projects, they will not be useful to the people.”

He explained that the Governor is a very careful person that have utilised the tax payers money very well by ensuring that whatever thing he is doing is strategic and solution to people’s problems .

”When you see this hospital and the environment, you will understand that this place harbours millions of people and that there is need for a specialist hospital here in Fegge, to take care of their health needs.

“The ministry is handling similar projects across the three Senatorial Zones namely in Enugwu-ukwu General Hospital, Njikoka LGA for central; Ekwulobia General Hospital, Aguata LGA for South . Umueri General Hospital Anambra East LGA for North to serve as referral centers , with additional new General Hospital at Okpoko in Ogbaru LGA, Anakeu General Hospital in Ayamelum LGA, Agulu -Otu and Oroma-Etiti General Hospital at Anambra West LGA and Trauma Center at COOUTH Amaku Awka South LGA.

 

 

The Commissioner highlighted ongoing projects in various Senatorial Zones, emphasizing the importance of providing quality healthcare facilities for the people of Anambra. He also urged contractors to adhere strictly to specifications to ensure the successful completion of projects.

However, he called on the contractor handling the Urban Secondary School Nkpor to adhere strictly to the specifications in the contract and rectify observed errors, he said the site would be visited in a week time to confirm compliance with the directives .

In their separate appreciations, the representative of the Crystal Dove Construction Company, Architect Uzukwu Beson and Principal of Urban Secondary School, Mrs Uzoma Chinyere, thanked the Governor and the Commissioner for Housing for their dedication to improving the state’s infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for all Anambra residents through sustainable development projects.
