In a recent press briefing marking the 2024 World Tourism Day, Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji, emphasized Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen the state’s tourism industry. He noted that the governor, with his extensive experience as a globally recognized tourist, is driving these efforts.

The Governor Soludo has initiated the construction of the multimillion-naira Solution Fun City, designed to accommodate up to 5,000 visitors simultaneously.

Commissioner Onyenji highlighted that, alongside this landmark project, the Governor is also upgrading existing leisure facilities across the state by investing in crucial infrastructure, such as roads, which are essential for boosting tourism.

Encouraging local communities to take initiative, Onyenji called for the establishment of leisure parks in their respective areas. He stressed that such developments would not only create enjoyable activities but also meaningfully engage community members, particularly the youth.

While acknowledging challenges such as insecurity—common to many regions—and funding limitations, Onyenji asserted that Anambra continues to attract a growing number of tourists, a testament to the proactive measures implemented by the Soludo administration.

The event, attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Jerome Ilokwu, the Head of the Tourism Department, Mrs. Chioma Afuba, and various tourism volunteers, revolved around the theme: “Tourism, Justice, and Peace—When They Come Together Effectively, the World is Better.”
