Anambra state government, south east Nigeria has pledged to partner with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to ensure that at least 90 entrepreneurs are empowered across the State.
Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr Obinna Ngonadi made the pledge while declaring open, the National Business Skills Development Initiative (NBSDI) ceremony at Prof Kenneth Dike Central e-Library in Awka, the state capital.
He said the programme was aimed at identifying diverse needs of entrepreneurs and as well, empower them for greater attainments, urging participants to make best use of the opportunity and the equipment to improve businesses.
Delivering his keynote address, Director General of SMEDAN, Mr Olawale Fasanya, represented by the Deputy Director Entrepreneurship Development and Promotionsy Department Abuja, Mrs Fatima Shuaibu assured the participants that the agency would continue to support entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
The participants will go home with equipment relevant to their acquired skills at the end of the 4-day programme.
They include equipment for laundry services, tailoring, hairdressing, catering, among others.
