The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has been honoured with three international awards at the 2025 Global Power Forum.

The event was held on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

This is contained in a statement from his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime and Soludo’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media/National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Ejimofor Opara

Governor Soludo received the African Public Service Excellence Award, the African Governor of the Year Award, and a Certificate of Special Recognition from the House of Representatives of the U.S. State of South Carolina,” the statement reads.

The awards were presented during a high-level forum focused on Africa-Caribbean development, which recognised Governor Soludo’s exceptional contributions to public service, economic leadership, and institutional reforms.

The commendation from South Carolina highlighted his distinguished career spanning academia, central banking, including his tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria—and his advisory role to the Nigerian presidency.

The forum convened a host of global leaders, including former Tanzanian President Dr. Jakaya Kikwete; Prime Minister Philip Davis of The Bahamas; President Sylvanie Burton of Dominica; and Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In a keynote address titled “Africa Unleashed: Navigating the Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities – The Anambra State Example,” Governor Soludo outlined his administration’s development strategies.

He presented Anambra’s progress in infrastructure, digital governance, and grassroots economic initiatives as a viable model for sustainable growth on the continent.

This recognition is seen as a notable endorsement of Anambra State’s growing profile on the global stage, acknowledging the strides made in innovation and public sector reform under Governor Soludo’s leadership, the statement noted.

The Global Power Forum is an annual event held alongside the UN General Assembly, dedicated to spotlighting transformational leadership and fostering collaboration between Africa and the Caribbean.
