The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned a new innovation hub in Awka, in a move aimed at accelerating the State’s transition into a leading centre for digital innovation and technology-driven growth in Nigeria.
Represented at the event by his deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the governor said the facility was in line with his administration’s vision of building a globally competitive digital economy.
He said the government was investing in large-scale digital skills training for youths while strengthening the environment for innovation-led businesses to grow.

Additional Projects
Soludo said additional projects would be unveiled in the coming months to sustain momentum in developing a knowledge-based economy, reiterating plans to benchmark the state’s growth against leading global innovation ecosystems.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation and Chief Executive Officer of the Solution Innovation District, Chinwe Okoli, said the administration has trained about 300,000 youths in digital skills at no cost.
She said the new hub would expand access to training and support the development of startups across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the donors, Executive Director of the Ayke Anthony Okechukwu Innovation Hub, Chioma Okechukwu-Uba, said the facility was established to complement the state government’s digital economy agenda.
She added that the hub would focus on equipping young people with in-demand digital skills and fostering innovation in line with government priorities.
The commissioning emphasises increasing collaboration between public policy and private initiatives in advancing Anambra’s ambition to emerge as a major player in Nigeria’s digital economy.
