Anambra Governor seeks support for Security Agencies

Anambra state governor in South-East Nigeria,  professor Chukwuma  Charles Soludo, has called for support for security agents as a way of encouraging them to be more committed to the duty of securing lives and property.

Governor Soludo made the call during this year’s launch of Emblem at the Government House Awka to officially kick off the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is set aside by the government to honour and support both serving and retired members of the Armed Forces who devoted their active working years to the service of their fatherland and to raise fund for the upkeep of the Widows of the fallen Heroes and their dependants.

 

Professor Soludo who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim pointed out that security agents make a lot of sacrifices to ensure safety for all, hence the need to support them when necessary.

The Governor commended serving and retired security agents in the state for all their efforts in safeguarding the State, and assured to continue to support them.

He assured Anambrarians that his government is committed towards ensuring that everyone in the state is relatively comfortable, and called for joint effort in the struggle for a better state.

Earlier in an address, the state Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Mr Ben Eze Agbogu while appreciating Governor Soludo led administration for all its efforts geared towards positively transforming the state especially in area of road infrastructure, said that the state chapter of the Nigerian Legion is still faced with poor budgetary allocation, lack of operational vehicles, lack of befitting office accommodation, and jobs, appealing to the government to look into the challenges with view of addressing them.

The event which attracted top officials of the Army, Police, Federal Road Safety Commission and other service Chiefs, featured donations in support of the military veterans.
