Anambra State governor in South-East Nigeria has called for synergy between the executive and legislative arms of government in the areas of enactment and implementation of laws that would guarantee a safer society.
He made this known during the valedictory session in honour of the late Majority Leader, of the Anambra State house of Assembly, Dr Nnamdi Okafor.
The state government has commiserated with the House, family and relatives of the deceased legislator who passed on in August this year during a legislative forum in South Africa.
Anambra state governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim who described death as an inevitable end for all mortals, said that the deceased was knowledgeable in lawmaking, even as he prayed that God will grant the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uchenna Okafor while noting that the late Honourable Okafor was dedicated to his legislative duties until his demise, and played a major role in the successes recorded so far by the present seventh assembly, prayed that such ordeal will not befall the state House of Assembly again.
During the event which took place at the state House of Assembly in Awka, the state capital, members of the seventh assembly took turns to eulogize the deceased through their various tributes.
