Anambra: Governor’s Wife distributes items to Clerics in Welfare Home

The Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has presented items to Catholic Priests living at the Priests’ Welfare Home in Awka, the state capital.

Mrs Soludo disclosed that the visit was part of her charity tour to children and welfare homes in the state.

Speaking at the home, Nonye Soludo restated her belief that everyone deserves the love of the season, noting that the visit was to check on the welfare and living conditions of the priests.

She promised to maintain the visitation schedule for the home and praised the management for keeping the place in order and healthy for the residents.

Earlier, the manager of the home, Reverend Father Emmanuel Uduh, disclosed that Mrs Soludo is the first governor’s wife in history to have visited the home, and commended her for always thinking about how to reach out to those in need.

One of the priests in the home, Reverend Monsignor Simon Amateze talked about the importance of charity and the blessings that come from act of kindness, stressing that by living out kindness, Mrs Soludo has earned for herself a lifetime blessing from God.

The Priests later prayed for the Governor’s wife, her family, the state and the country at large.

Items presented to the home included bags of rice, beans, tubers of yam, and cash.

The Welfare Home, accomodates Catholic Priests in Awka and Ekwulobia dioceses who are either too old to work, incapacitated or nursing serious illnesses.
