A chieftain and former National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sir Paul Chukwuma, has announced his candidacy for the 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.
At a media parley in Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area, Chukwuma outlined his vision for the state.
He emphasised his commitment to addressing insecurity, infrastructural challenges, unemployment, and other socio-economic issues facing the people of Anambra.
Chukwuma, a business and economics expert, pledged to utilize his expertise to efficiently manage the state’s resources and foster development in key areas such as roads, railways, gas pipelines, and ports. He highlighted security and massive infrastructure development as his top priorities, noting that these are essential for attracting investors and ensuring sustainable growth.
The governorship aspirant also addressed the issue of zoning in Anambra politics, stating that the APC does not support the current zoning arrangement perpetuated by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Chukwuma criticized the current administration under Governor Chukwuma Soludo, highlighting governance deficits such as poor treatment of civil servants, inadequate security, and excessive taxation.
“My vision for Anambra includes a focus on job creation, qualitative education, and equitable distribution of resources.”
He pledged to run an all-inclusive government that delivers dividends of democracy to every citizen, promising to work collaboratively with stakeholders to eradicate insecurity and promote economic growth in the state.
“My candidacy represents a fresh perspective and a commitment to bringing positive change to Anambra State through effective governance and strategic development initiatives,” Chukwuma noted.
