Anambra Man Of The Year Awards 2025 Celebrates Excellence

The Anambra Man of the Year (AMTY) Awards honored 40 distinguished philanthropists and exceptional individuals for their remarkable contributions to human capital development and societal betterment in a vibrant ceremony held at Stanel Dome in Awka, Anambra State.
This prestigious event, now in its fourth edition, welcomed a plethora of dignitaries and industry leaders, showcasing a diverse range of achievements while inspiring integrity and greatness among the Anambrarians.
The categories of recognition included Best Investor of the Year, Award for Social Impact, Media Icon of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, and many others emphasizing service and innovation.
Notable award recipients included: Lady Ada Chukwudozie, Chairperson of Keystone Group and South East Chairperson of the Manufacturer Association of Nigeria (MAN),
– Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone, former Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka
– Prof. Joe Ezigbo, Founder of Falcon Corporation Limited
– Chief Dr. Azubuike Austin Ekweozor, Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Umunze
– Ngozi Ezeonu, celebrated Nollywood actress
– Iken Mazeli, highlife music artist
– Prof. Benjamin Ozumba, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Queen Theresa Ofojie Ojialo, Mr. John Onuigbo, Emeka Monye, among others.
In his opening address, Mr Chiedu Okafor, Co-founder of the AMTY Awards, emphasized that the awards bear no political undertones but serve to recognize individuals who have significantly contributed to the positive transformation of their communities.
He noted that the selection process involved online voting by relevant stakeholders from the Igbo community worldwide, coupled with a thorough analysis of the nominees’ outstanding achievements in their respective fields.
“The AMTY Awards were conceived in 2020 as a responsive measure against the commercialization of awards that diminish their integrity.
We aimed to introduce a credible system that genuinely celebrates excellence, exemplified through the efforts of these remarkable individuals who have made a tangible impact in society,” he stated.
Okafor extended his gratitude to Engr. Barth Nwibe for sponsoring the program and acknowledged the support of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in creating a conducive environment for the awards.
Award recipients expressed heartfelt appreciation for the recognition, sharing that it motivated them to further their efforts in community development.
The event was chaired by Dr. Chike Obidigbo (Osisioma Igbo), an esteemed Investment Consultant, adding to the spirit of excellence and acknowledgment that the AMTY Awards embody for Anambra State.
