Over 500 Master of Ceremonies (MCs) and comedians from all 21 local government areas of Anambra State gathered at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre to formally endorse Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office.
The event, organised by the Anambra State Chapter of the Talk Service Providers of Nigeria (TSPN), has been widely hailed as one of the largest mobilizations of the entertainment and event-hosting industry in the state’s recent political history.

Delivering the welcome address, Mr. Shedrack Nnanna, TSPN State Convener and Special Assistant to the Governor on Events, commended Soludo’s administration for its inclusive leadership and consistent support of the creative sector.
“The entertainment and event-hosting industry in Anambra has witnessed remarkable growth under this administration,” Nnanna noted. “We are proud to stand behind a leader who not only empowers young people but also actively engages grassroots professionals,” he said.
Chairman of the occasion, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi (Ikenga Umuawulu), represented by Leo Nwuba, praised Governor Soludo’s accomplishments and encouraged TSPN members to remain steadfast ambassadors of the administration’s vision.
A keynote lecture themed “Event Anchoring in a Developing Economy” was delivered by Professor Chike Okoye, former Head of the English Department at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Prof. Okoye emphasized the need for professional excellence in the events industry and lauded the state government’s investment in youth development, infrastructure, and security.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Soludo, Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming endorsement.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to performance-driven, transparent, and people-centered governance.
“This endorsement is more than a show of support—it is a call to action,” Dr. Ibezim said. “As we approach the 2025 elections, we urge entertainers and MCs to be vocal ambassadors of the Solution Government,” he said.

In closing, Sir Mmaduabuchi Onwumelu, Chairman of the 2025 TSPN Committee, praised Soludo’s proactive leadership and emphasized the critical role entertainers play in civic education and community development.
The event concluded with a cultural celebration featuring musical performances and comedy sketches by some of Anambra’s top entertainers, emphasizing the unity and creative energy behind the governor’s re-election campaign.
