Stakeholders from all 99 wards of Anambra North Senatorial Zone of Anambra State, in a remarkable display of unity and solidarity across political divides, have endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office, praising his impactful governance and development strides since assuming office in March 2022.
The event, held at Otuocha Township Stadium in Anambra East Local Government Area, attracted thousands of residents, key political figures, traditional rulers, community leaders, and educational stakeholders, all converging to celebrate and support Governor Soludo’s administration.
At the ceremony, the Anambra North Traditional Rulers Council unanimously conferred on Governor Soludo the chieftaincy title “Oluatuegwu,” symbolising his leadership and transformative influence on the zone’s socio-economic landscape.

The title was formally bestowed by Igwe Benjamin Okeji, Deputy Chairman of the State Traditional Rulers Council and Chairman of the Anambra North Traditional Rulers Council.
Igwe Okeji, the Traditional Ruler of Omasi, lauded Governor Soludo’s purposeful leadership, which he said has positively impacted various sectors of the economy.
Other traditional rulers, including Igwe Frederick Okoli of Ndiokpalaeze and Igwe Fidelis Onumonu of Umunnankwo, expressed profound appreciation for the governor’s people-oriented governance and called on the public to support his second term bid.
In their remarks, community leaders echoed the endorsement, citing Governor Soludo’s achievements such as the elevation of Anambra West LGA to urban status, infrastructural improvements in road networks, the transformation of Awka city, and significant reforms in education and healthcare.
Prominent political figures present at the rally, including former House of Representatives member Chinedu Obidigwe, Commissioner for Special Duties Barrister Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche, and other dignitaries, praised the governor’s inclusive development agenda.
The Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, led a delegation of staff and students to the event, highlighting the governor’s commitment to educational reforms and supporting the continuation of his policies for an uninterrupted eight-year tenure.

The President General of Umumbo, Mr. Paul Ejimofor, and community leaders from Ogbaru, Odekpe, Umuoba Anam, Ogwuaniocha, and Okpoko communities also endorsed the governor, while drawing attention to local issues such as flood disaster relief, road rehabilitation, and security enhancement.
Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support and the traditional honor, Governor Soludo reaffirmed his dedication to the rotational governorship arrangement among Anambra’s senatorial zones, describing it as sacrosanct for maintaining peace and equity.
He dismissed political contenders from Anambra South as self-serving “jokers” and promised accelerated development and more impactful governance in his second term.
Highlighting ongoing projects, Governor Soludo announced that his administration has awarded contracts aimed at elevating Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, into one of Nigeria’s premier institutions of higher learning.
In a statement posted on his verified social media handle, Governor Soludo remarked, “We haven’t commenced campaigns, and our campaign council hasn’t even been constituted, as we are still in delivery mode.
However, I’m thrilled by the overwhelming crowd of supporters who thronged the Otuocha Township Stadium today.

The icing on the cake is the traditional title of ‘Oluatuegwu’ conferred on me by the Anambra North Council of Traditional Rulers. I am grateful for this vote of confidence and assure that I won’t fail to justify the trust reposed in me. May Anambra continue to win!”
