Anambra Police Hosts First-Ever Couples, Award Night

The Anambra State Police Command held its first ever Couples and Award giving night at the Vertex View Hotel Hall, Nibo, Awka.

The event, which was the brainchild of the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, aimed at bringing together police officers and their spouses to foster connection, camaraderie, and relaxation.

In his remarks, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam expressed his gratitude to the officers for their hard work and dedication. He highlighted the significance of the event in appreciating their patriotic service to Ndi Anambra and inspiring greater commitment to maintaining safety and security in 2025.

Ndi Anambra should shift their focus away from the challenges facing Nigeria, such as economic issues, and instead prioritize relaxation and reconnecting with their families,” he stated.

This Couples Night is a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact and strengthening the bond within the Anambra State Police Command as they prepare for an even more productive year ahead.

Every society begins with the family, and by promoting strong family values, much of the crime currently seen as a “business” would be eradicated he reiterated.

He however,  issued a stern warning to criminals in the state, urging them to repent and change their ways. Stating thàt despite the demanding nature of their work, the police will continue to enforce the law and intensify operation to ensure the safety of Anambra State

He further noted the importance of a collective change in mindset. “Until this change occurs, we cannot achieve the self-sustaining communities we desire.”

The evening featured engagements by marriage counselors, couple games, exchange of gifts, and  lively dance sessions. These activities created a convivial atmosphere while promoting unity among the officers and their families.
