Anambra Poll: Labour Party calls for release of candidate

Chief Clement Ojukwu, the National Organizing Secretary of Labour Party had made a call for the release of their candidate, Obiora Agbasimelo who was kidnapped months before the November 6 Anambra Election.

This call was made in a signed press statement signed press statement which says; Members of the Press, I Chief Gbazuoagu Clement Ojukwu greet you all in the name of our great Labour Party and it’s teeming supporters Nationwide.

 “It was keenly contested by the Candidates of all the registered Political Parties. It has come and gone without violence or loss of lives to the glory of God. Kindly recall that the Candidate of Labour Party Chief Obiora Agbasimelo was kidnapped months before this Election.”

The party further lamented on how the missing of their Candidate had a great toll on the party’s performance during the just concluded Anambra gubernatorial gubernatorial.

“He has not been set free by his kidnappers till date. His absence greatly affected Labour Party and the morale of its teeming supporters. His vibrant, youthful, well educated and informed Campaign strategy and oratory rattled the opposition and gave the masses great hope of a landslide victory in the Election. Unfortunately, he was kidnapped and kept away from Campaigns, debates and discussions prior to the Election. Today, the Election has come and gone.

“On behalf of our great Labour Party, our teeming supporters and the wife, children and family of our Candidate, Chief Obiora Agbasimelo, I humbly and most passionately appeal and beg the kidnappers of our dear Candidate to kindly set him free as the Election is over and concluded today.

“Kindly release him to rejoin his worried family and traumatised wife and children after a very long exclusion from the rest of humanity. We make this appeal in the name of God Almighty and believe that our appeal will yield positive result to the glory of God.
