Anambra State Calls For Preservation of Cultural Artifacts

The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji has called for the preservation of Igbo Cultural Artifacts to protect them from going into extinction.

The Commissioner made this call in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

The Commissioner while highlighting the importance of Igbo Cultural Artifacts, noted that it would help to tell the story of ’Ndi Igbo’ (Igbo people) to future generations.

He also said that due to how important culture is to the governor, he created the Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism.

“Artifacts of the people are the vehicle that drives tourism in every society because it attracts social traffic into the state thereby creating business opportunities,” he reiterated.

The Commissioner further urged ‘Ndi Igbo’ (Igbo people) to promote and patronise their Cultural Artists to encourage them for more research.

The Commissioner noted that the Arts and Cultural Center which is to be built at Nibo in Awka South Local Government Area is at the conception stage.
He then called on Ndi Anambra to keep supporting Governor Chukwuma Soludo to enable him to continue to deliver the dividend of democracy to them.
