Anambra state commences digital tax collection process

Anambra State Government, South East Nigeria, has commenced digital tax collection processes to close illegal channels through which citizens are robbed of their earnings in the guise of tax.

 

The Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Richard Madiebo made the announcement in Awka, the state capital.

Madiebo said revenue collection process is now digitalised to ensure sanity in the system, while urging residents of the state to pay their taxes timely.

Meanwhile, the state government has also identified strategic payment points for tax collection.
During identification of the state revenue collection points, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by his deputy, Mr Onyekachukwu Ibezim explained that the points are for collection of taxes from trucks, and other commercial entities.

He said this would further help reduce illegal tax collection.

The governor affirmed that his government was determined to ensure that there was no leakages in internally generated revenue  collection process.
Governor Soludo while disclosing that activities will fully commence in all the revenue collection points in less than two weeks, asked the state residents to endeavour to pay their taxes at appropriate places to ensure an all-round development of the state.
