Anambra state commissioner for Environment, Engr. Felix Odimegwu, has urged individuals and organizations to strengthen their partnership with the state on environmental issues.

Commissioner Odimegwu made this appeal while receiving TECHNOSERVE facilitators involved in the USAID/COCA-COLA-funded Nigeria Plastics Solution Activity. The visit included an inspection of trucks and other equipment intended for the implementation of Anambra’s Plastic Challenge 2.0.

He emphasized that Anambra State is committed to initiatives aimed at reducing waste, promoting recycling, and fostering a culture of sustainability under the leadership of Governor Charles Soludo.

“Partnership is a vital approach through which the state government aims to raise awareness about the importance of waste separation for recycling, thereby generating economic prosperity through the circular economy,” Odimegwu stated.

Earlier in the meeting, the head of the TECHNOSERVE delegation, Ronald Otteson, praised the state government’s efforts in creating an enabling environment for investors, which he believes will lead to meaningful and lasting improvements in the lives of the citizens.

Technoserve is the country facilitator for the USAID/COCA-COLA-funded Nigeria Plastics Solutions Activity, with Anambra and Lagos States selected as pilot project beneficiaries in the first phase.

Last year, the All Anambra Communities Plastic Waste Recovery Challenge was successfully organized, with numerous prizes awarded to participants. This year’s challenge promises to be even bigger and better.
