In line with Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of ‘Everything Technology and Technology Everywhere,’ the Anambra State Government is making significant strides in delivering free, high-speed internet access across the state through the Solution Wi-Fi Initiative, an initiative aimed at providing free public Wi-Fi access and transforming the state into a smart mega-city.

In a statement released and signed by Nwanodu Angela, Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State ICT Agency, in Awka on Wednesday, it was stated: ”This ambitious project, rooted in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, aims to harness technological advancements for the benefit of all residents, driving Anambra’s digital revolution forward.”

Launched as a pilot program at three key locations—Aroma Junction, Book Foundation, and School Gate Ifite—the Solution Wi-Fi Initiative has now expanded to reach an additional 14 sites across Anambra.

This growth underscores the administration’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and providing students, businesses, and residents with vital online resources for education, development, and economic empowerment.

The initiative is spearheaded by the Anambra State ICT Agency in collaboration with Pine Heights Systems Limited (PHSWEB), accelerating the development of digital infrastructure. This partnership positions Anambra as a leader in technology inclusion while optimising resources and expertise.

According to Nwanodu, with the ongoing expansion of Solution Wi-Fi, connectivity is becoming increasingly accessible to a broader audience.

‘‘Governor Soludo’s administration envisions a state where internet access fuels innovation, education, and economic growth, reinforcing the belief that digital inclusion is essential for social progress. Each new Solution Wi-Fi location brings Anambra closer to a fully connected digital ecosystem. The state government remains committed to extending this network to even more areas, furthering Governor Soludo’s aspiration for a tech-savvy state that ensures equitable access to technology and empowers its citizens in the digital economy.

‘‘Through the collaborative efforts of the Anambra State Government and Pine Heights Systems Limited (PHSWEB), a future is being created where technology drives growth, learning, and opportunity, making Anambra a beacon of digital transformation in Nigeria.’’

The statement encouraged residents to check the agency’s flyer for information on getting connected and to share their experiences, ensuring that Solution Wi-Fi is accessible in their area.
