Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has signed the 2023 appropriation bill into law.
The bill is the first full fiscal annual budget to be proposed by the present administration totaling N259 billion.
The signing was performed by the Governor at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Awka, Anambra State.
While describing the timely passage of the budget as a productive partnership, Governor Soludo appreciated the State House of Assembly for marching to achieve the transformation agenda of the present administration.
According to the Governor, “passing the act of parliament is the fundamental job”.
He applauded them for expeditiously scrutinizing and passing the budget into law.
While expressing optimism that the dreams promised the people will be achieved in spite of all the odds and challenges in the country, Governor Soludo assured that his administration will keep pressing on all cylinders to ensure good governance for the people of the state.
‘Budget of acceleration’
The Governor had on November 10, 2022, presented a draft estimate of N258, 970, 175, 905 budget to the Anambra State House of Assembly. The budget is tagged, “Budget of Acceleration“.
Present at the occasion are the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Ms. Chiamaka Nnake and the Deputy Majority Leader at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Aforka.
