Anambra State Health Commissioner Lauds UNICEF, Global Fund

The Commissioner for health in Anambra State, Dr. Afam Obidike has lauded the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and Global Fund for the ongoing reconstruction of the State Pharmaceutical Central Store in the state.

Dr. Obidike gave the commendation while inspecting the ongoing reconstruction of the State Pharmaceutical Central Store to modern Central Store in Awka, the state capital.

According to the Commissioner, “The ongoing reconstruction is in partnership with Global Fund, UNICEF, and the State Government”.

Dr. Obidike commended Global Fund, UNICEF for their continued partnership with the State Government that is geared toward improving healthcare System of the State.

He stated that Anambra was chosen among other few States in Nigeria due to the cordial relationship that exists between the State, Global Fund and UNICEF.

“We are committing 10 per cent in this project that worth millions of naira and we must thank the Executive Governor of the State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for his continued support in the healthcare system of the State.”

Dr. Obidike disclosed that the project when completed, will help the State in storing essential commodities.

He appreciated the contractor handling the project for their commitment, urging them to expedite action so as to meet the deadline for the completion of the project.
