The Anambra State Government, through the Ministry of Industry, has organised a Local Export Event aimed at enhancing the capacity of indigenous manufacturers.

Held in Awka, the event attracted numerous local manufacturers, industrialists, and prominent figures from the business community.

With the theme “Accelerating Made In Anambra by Developing and Promoting Non-Oil Export in the State,” the initiative is designed to promote and bolster local manufacturers.

In his keynote address, Commissioner for Industry Mr. Christian Udechukwu highlighted the significant advancements made by Governor Soludo’s administration in supporting local industries.

He noted that the government has completed over 300 kilometers of roadways, partnered with EEDC to improve power supply, and is awaiting the passage of the Anambra State Power Generation Bill to attract further investment in the energy sector.

Udechukwu further emphasised the government’s commitment to promoting made-in-Anambra products, citing that Governor Soludo’s official motorcade comprises exclusively vehicles manufactured by Innoson Motors Ltd.

The event drew key stakeholders from Nigeria’s manufacturing sector, including Mr. McPherson A. Alfred Iloegben, Regional Director of NEPC Southeast, representatives from SON, NAFDAC, the Nigeria Customs Service, Cutix Plc, International Brewery, and leading experts from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, among others.

The successful gathering underscores Anambra State’s ongoing commitment to fostering local industries and enhancing economic development.
