The Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS), has pledged to transform the revenue administration of the state transport sector into a world class revenue system that will enhance rapid growth and eliminate double taxation.

Chairman/Chief Executive of the service, Mr Richard Nwora Madiebo, made the pledge during a meeting between the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo and Transport and Market Union Exco members at Awka, the state capital.

In the plan, the Chairman presented the daily operational permit fees for all types of vehicles used for local shuttles which includes 5% union commission and park permit.

He explained that the payment could be made monthly, quarterly or twice in a year for only 25 days instead of the actual total number of days in a month.

The Chairman further explained that if payers pay quarterly or half a year, they receive more discounts.

“To make these payments to the government, the payer can go to the nearest Government identified Agents or Banks,” the chairman explained
