Anambra State mourns former Parliamentarian, the late Nnebe

The Anambra state government has mourned the demise of his Special Adviser on Legislative /State Assembly Matters, the late Anayo Nnebe who passed away on Wednesday after a brief illness

According to the statement released and signed by Christian Aburime, the Press Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo,“Hon. Nnebe, 61years, was a distinguished son of Anambra State, a patriotic Nigerian, who served the state with honour, integrity, and excellence.

“He was a visionary leader, a brilliant legislator, and a passionate advocate for the welfare and development of his people and Anambra State.

“He was a man of peace, wisdom, and compassion. The governor has lost a trusted ally, a dependable colleague, and a dear brother in the former Speaker.

 “His death is also a huge blow to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and to the entire people of Anambra State. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

“On behalf of the government and the good people of Anambra State, Governor Soludo extends his heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, associates, and constituents.

“May God grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and grant his soul eternal rest.”

Likewise, the Anambra State House of Assembly has mourns the former Speaker, Anayo Nnebe

The Speaker of the Anambra State House ofAssembly, Somtochukwu Udeze described the death of former Speaker, Anayo Nnebe as a great loss to the State in general and Anambra State House of Assembly in particular.

In a statement released and signed by Emma Madu, Chief Press Secretary to the speaker Anambra house of assembly, Udeze in his condolence message to the Late Chief Nnebe’s family on behalf of the State Legislature, noted that Chief Nnebe distinguished himself as a renowned Public Servant and Selfless Politician in view of his numerous accomplishments.

The Speaker who recounted some of the achievements of the Late Chief Nnebe to include construction of numerous constituency projects, securing employment opportunities and provision of empowerment schemes for his constituents among others during his time as Speaker of the State House of Assembly and Member that represented Awka North and South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly respectively, lauded his legislative prowess.

He described the late State Assembly Speaker as a grassroot politician, philanthropist, devout Christian and community leader who started as Secretary to the Government of Awka South Local Government Area, State Assembly Speaker, National Assembly Member as well as Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on State Assembly and National Assembly Matters, expressing satisfaction that the Late Chief Nnebe made giant contributions to the development of his home town Awka and Anambra State at large.

Udeze maintained that though his immediate family, Awka Community, Ndi Awka North and South Local Government Areas, Anambra State House of Assembly, National Assembly and indeed Nigerians will miss the Late Chief Nnebe,his eventful life and times are enough consolation.

The Speaker prayed God to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss and grant the soul of the Late Chief Nnebe eternal rest.

The late Nnebe was the former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly from 2007-2011.

He hailed from Umuokpu Awka in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
