The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has commenced formal preparations for its 2026 congresses ahead of the 2027 general election, with Governor Umo Eno constituting an implementation committee to coordinate and oversee the exercise across the State.

Governor Eno made this known at a Stakeholders Meeting held in Uyo, where leaders and members of the party gathered to review progress and chart a united path forward.

Addressing party stakeholders, the Governor called for sustained unity, discipline, and commitment to the ideals of the APC, noting that cohesion within the party remains fundamental to achieving collective success and advancing development in Akwa Ibom State.

To ensure a smooth and credible congress process, Governor Eno constituted a seven-man implementation committee to work closely with the State Party Chairman.

“This is what I saw in you. This is the Akwa Ibom I have always yearned for, a peaceful State, united for one purpose, supporting whoever God has chosen to be our leader at any point, and united for the purpose of development. Together like this, nobody can come from outside to divide us,” Akpabio said.

He added that the peace enjoyed in the State during the festive period was a clear reflection of the unity fostered by the Governor.

“The whole of Christmas came and went, and the State remained peaceful because of how united we are. Governor Eno, you have done well. I want to thank you publicly before the stakeholders for the confidence you have reposed in your grandfather,” he stated.

The Senate President described Governor Eno as a visionary and courageous leader, noting that his decision to align with the APC in the interest of the State was timely and should not be taken for granted.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Governor beyond 2027 and urged party members to continue to rally behind him for sustained development.

In his remarks, the State Chairman of the APC, Obong Stephen Ntukepo, thanked Governor Umo Eno for his leadership, vision, and unifying role within the party, describing him as a gentleman whose love for Akwa Ibom people is evident.
