APC Campaign Flag-off: Tinubu promises good Governance, economic Development

The presidential candidate of Nigeria’s governing party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, has promised to deliver good governance and economic development, if elected President at the 2023 General Election.
Tinubu made the promise at the official flag-off of the party’s presidential campaign at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, North-Central Nigeria.
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, also officially handed over the APC flag to Mr. Tinubu to signify his position as the Presidential flagbearer of the party.

 

Speaking at the event, Tinubu who expressed his gratitude to God and the party for picking him to fly the party’s flag promised his commitment to “progressive good governance”.
He added that the achievements of the present Administration would earn them a landslide victory come 2023 as he would consolidate on the existing developmental strides of the Buhari Administration.
While highlighting his Agenda for the nation, if elected, Tinubu promised to focus on Education, Security, Agriculture and Human Capital development.
“We will ensure that no Nigerian goes to bed hungry and every child is educated.
“In the area of  Security, which is a major challenge, we will ensure the safety of lives and properties.
“We will establish commodity exchange.
“We shall continue all the works in the ongoing exploration in all fronts.
“We will encourage urban office and our farms would produce food for export,” said Tinubu.
The APC presidential candidate noted that the 2023 election was a fight for the soul of Nigeria on whether the country will follow constitutional democracy.
He urged the party faithful to ensure they have their permanent voters’ card in order to elect the leaders of their choice.

Also speaking, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, urged all party members to work hard as a team, stating that being the party in government does not give any extra advantage.
“Incumbency confers no permanent advantage.
“It will not save us if we fail to work hard and do those things we ought to do to win the hearts and support of the Nigerian electorate.
“Our system has no room for lone rangers.
“No one no matter his reach and no matter his physical strength or mental capacity can win an election alone. He must do so as a strong member of a collective political party,”said Adamu.
Earlier in his remarks, the Plateau State Governor and the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Simon Lalong described the occasion as significant.
He noted that the state would sustain its track record of hosting National Party Conventions and Presidential Campaigns that produced Nigerian Presidents.

“APC would do well in the forthcoming general election.

“We have 22 State Governors whose track record would speak for us next year.
“President Muhammadu Buhari would produce his successor in person of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We are going to win our elections. We would have more than two-third in the National Assembly and State House of Assembly,” said Lalong.
Voice of Nigeria correspondents report that thousands of APC supporters and leaders from all walks of life demonstrated their love and preference when they trooped the stadium as early as 9 am to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari , Senator Bola Tinubu and his entourage to Jos, the Plateau state capital.

 

The occasion was also attended by all the 22 governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as well as Senators, House of representatives members, former Governors and other important Personalities.
The wife of Mr. Tinubu, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in her address assured women and youths that they will be given a better way of life and better security will be restored in Nigeria, hence there was no need to be afraid.
The Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kebbi state, Abubakar Badaru, pledged the support of all APC governors to seek for votes for the presidential candidate.
The vice-presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima as well as his wife, Nana Shettima, spoke at the occasion in Hausa language.
The President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan as well as several APC Governors, had the chance to express their goodwill and commitment to Mr. Tinubu and the APC.
