The former senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2025 Anambra South by-election, Azuka Okwuosa, has said the ruling party remains best positioned to address development challenges in Nigeria’s South-East region and across the country.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the APC Anambra State strategic stakeholders’ interactive meeting in Awka, Okwuosa reaffirmed his confidence in the party’s national leadership and reform agenda.

He praised Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma for his role in strengthening party cohesion and described him as a central figure in consolidating the APC’s presence in Anambra State.

According to Okwuosa, Uzodinma’s appointment to lead the party’s campaign for the 2025 Anambra governorship election reflects his political experience and organisational leadership.

Okwuosa said the APC remains committed to economic reform, infrastructure expansion and improved security under President Bola Tinubu.

He pointed to ongoing federal initiatives aimed at stabilising the economy, enhancing social investment programmes and advancing regional infrastructure projects, including road rehabilitation and energy sector reforms, as evidence of the administration’s broader national development strategy.

The APC is focused on policies that promote economic growth, strengthen institutions and ensure inclusive development for Ndi Anambra, the South-East and Nigeria as a whole,” Okwuosa said. “We believe sustained reforms under President Tinubu will continue to yield long-term benefits for all regions.”

He also called on residents of Anambra State to support APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, arguing that greater alignment between state and federal leadership would accelerate development outcomes.

During the meeting, party stakeholders formally endorsed President Tinubu for a second term, citing what they described as progress in fiscal reforms, infrastructure development and efforts to attract foreign investment.

Okwuosa further appealed for continued federal support to strengthen the APC’s structures in Anambra, emphasising grassroots mobilisation across the state’s 21 local government areas. He underscored party unity as essential to electoral success and long-term political stability.

“Unity is the foundation of meaningful political progress,” he said. “Our responsibility is to ensure that every ward and community feels connected to national development efforts.”

The stakeholders’ meeting, party officials said, was the largest gathering since the conclusion of the 2025 governorship election in the state, signalling renewed efforts to consolidate the APC’s position ahead of the next electoral cycle.
