A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano State North Western Nigeria, Danbilki Kwamanda has advised the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to jettison plans of wooing the National Leader and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, back to APC.

Kwamanda, a Frontline campaigner for Tinubu during the Presidential election stated this during an interaction with journalists at Kano NUJ Press Centre.

He said such moves are capable of destroying the party, stressing that information is rife on meetings between Tinubu and Kwankwaso to woo him back to APC.

Such political deal remain unhealthy to the survival of APC in Kano and at the national level, as it will not only collapse the party’s structure, but will also throw it into unrecoverable crises.

“Tinubu should not be carried away with Kwankwaso ‘s success in Kano and winning Kano in presidential election. He can not offer anything in Tinubu ‘s movement.” he said.

The APC stalwart who is also a close associate to outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari called on the national leadership of the party to zone the Senate Presidency to North-west, tipping the Senator representing Kano North, Senator Barau Jibrin as the best candidate to occupy the position, going by his wealth of experience in legislative duties.

North -West performed the best in the presidential election and the Senate Presidency should come to the region and in the North-West, it is Barau Jibrin or nobody. Barau Jibrin has the experience and know-how among the candidates vying the 10th Senate Presidency,” he said.

He urged the party not consider religion while considering a candidate for the Senate Presidency.
