As the 8th National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gets underway in the Federal Capital Territory, delegates from across the 36 states of the federation, including the FCT, are steadily arriving at Eagle Square, the venue of the event.
The convention represents the party’s highest decision-making platform, bringing together key stakeholders to deliberate on critical issues affecting its structure and future. At the gathering, members are expected to elect or ratify the party’s national leadership, particularly the National Working Committee (NWC).
In addition, the convention provides an opportunity to review party policies and strategies, as well as to set a clear direction ahead of future elections, especially the 2027 general elections.

The event is attracting high-profile attendance, including the President, state governors, ministers, and other leading party figures, underscoring its significance within the ruling party.
The 8th National Convention is pivotal in shaping the APC’s leadership structure and defining its electoral strategy. It also signals internal cohesion within the party while laying the groundwork for effective preparations for the 2027 general election.
