APC Denies Ganduje’s Involvement in Alleged Plot Against Kano Emir

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has dismissed rumors that its National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje is plotting to dethrone Emir Mohammad Sanusi of Kano.

Dr. Ganduje’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment, Oliver Okpala in a statement  clarified that the party’s National Chairman, no longer serving as governor, has no role in the emirate affairs.

Mr. Okpala said the allegations stemmed from a report claiming Ganduje was orchestrating a scheme to remove the Emir, citing unnamed sources from the Kofar Kudu Palace.

Okpala labeled these claims as false and absurd, emphasising that Ganduje is focused on national issues as the APC leader and has moved on from his gubernatorial responsibilities.

“It is laughable that Dr. Ganduje who has left office as Governor for some years now would be accused of masterminding a fresh plot to remove or enthrone an Emir.

“According to the publication Ganduje is not only alleged to be plotting to remove Emir Sanusi, they said he is also plotting to advise Alhaji Ado Bayero to abdicate his throne as Emir of Kano for peace to reign . This is to say the least preposterous and absurd”

“It must be made clear that Dr. Ganduje has led and Governed Kano state creditably and since moved on, focusing on other more important national issues, as he leads Nigeria’s governing party”.

He urged those spreading such rumors to recognise Ganduje’s respect for the presidency and his contributions to Kano state, stating that the APC chairman is not involved in any plots concerning the emirship.

Okpala called for an end to the malicious narratives aimed at creating discord between Ganduje and the presidency.

“The sponsors of this unsavory publication should know that the people of Kano state love and cherish Dr. Ganduje for his untrammeled services to the people of Kano when he served as Governor. Dr Ganduje as the National Chairman of the APC through his leadership activities has now positioned the party as one to reckon with.

“His monumental political acheivements now portray him as a true nationalist; not involved in sectional politics or irrelevant traditional matters” Mr. Okpala added.
