The All Progressives Congress in Gombe State has officially flagged off campaigns for the forthcoming Local Government Councils Election in Gombe State, scheduled for Saturday, December 19, 2020.

Declaring the campaign opened,G Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Njodi, called on party members and supporters to come out in their numbers and vote the candidates of the party in all the 11 local government areas and the 114 wards in the state.

The chairman of the Campaign/Election Planning Council, Alhaji Abubakar Mu’azu, said campaigns were going on peacefully, because posters of the opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, were still intact without any being destroyed.

Alhaji Mu’azu said the APC was united for victory in the 19th December Local Government Election, therefore urging the candidates, whom he believed would clinch the seats, to ensure they remain at their domain and avoid unnecessary trips outside their local government areas.

He commended the efforts of security agencies, as well as the vigilantes and hunters in providing the enabling environment for the peaceful conduct of the election.

For party chieftain, Senator Joshua Lidani, Governor Yahaya could not work alone but needed those who would execute his vision for the state down the grassroots, hence the importance of the local government election.

Senator Lidani expressed confidence in the candidates vying for the chairmanship and councilorship capable of executing the ideals of the party at the grassroots.

He called on the public to support the party and vote its candidates in.

Other speakers, like the Acting Chairman of the Party, Mr. Nite Amangal and party chieftain, Alhaji Bala Bello Tinka, all took turns to call on the public to support the party and vote in chairmen of all 11 local government areas and 114 wards in the state during the Saturday, 19th December 2020 election.
