APC Governors Visit Kebbi, Offer Support for Schoolgirls Rescue

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, under the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), have visited Kebbi State to express solidarity with the government and families of the 25 students abducted from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Senior Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State.

Leading the delegation, Imo State Governor and PGF Chairman, Senator Hope Uzodinma, told officials that the forum stands “united behind President Bola Tinubu in the effort to strengthen national security and curb the rising wave of insecurity across the country” 

He added that the governors are committed to “doing whatever it takes to secure Nigeria and sustain our democracy.” 

Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris who welcomed them, thanked President Tinubu for his “quick response” and for promising the release of the girls still held by bandits.

He announced that he has instructed Muslim and Christian clerics to pray for the safe return of the students and for lasting peace and unity in Nigeria.

The delegation included Governors Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, Ahmed Usman‑Ododo of Kogi State, Hyacinth Alia of Benue state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state, Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe, and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu.

The governors reiterated that their support is total and that they will work with federal authorities to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted girls and the restoration of security in the region.
